Join local historian William Breckenridge as he details the dynamic history of Melville Island. From wartime prison to idyllic sailing club, this presentation will review all parts of the Island’s incredible past.

William Breckenridge is a graduate of St. Mary’s University with a B.A. in Classics, History and Geography, and is a lifelong resident of Halifax’s historic Schmidtville neighbourhood.

He has served as a board member for the Friends of Schmidtville, the Friends of the Halifax Common, the Halifax Military Heritage Preservation Society, and the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia.
